Default transmission related? please help.

ok...since my blown head gasket has been taken care of the shop took it for a drive after and the guy recommended i use some fuel injector cleaner because sometimes it felt like it wanted to go sometimes it doesnt. i didnt think it had **** to do with the injectors but took his word for it and have been using it. so, yesterday i took the car for a little ride and noticed it basically runs like complete ****, my mazda is faster accelerating. it will accelerate just fine city driving/accelerating real slow but if i give it some gas it just makes a bunch of noise as if i was accelerating fast but took about 5 seconds from 55-60mph...now today i took it for a ride and it got much worse. i could only just barely touch to gas to get it to move and it was about 10 seconds to get up to 30mph. if i gave it anymore gas than just lightly pressing down the throttle it would be as if the car was in neutral. then on the last stretch of road home it got really bad, the car wouldnt go over 25mph withouth a really loud clunking as if the transmission was going to literally drop out of the car. i really cant explain it anymore than this, but have no idea whats going on. i just drove my mazda protege home and it felt like a speed demon, this is a problem ...

oh and for a while when it was sort-of working, in first gear the rpms kept going up to 4k (without trans perform button on) and wouldnt shift unless i took my foot off the pedal, the car would then shift and jolt then id accelerate again.

well i know when mine **** on me i lost 3rd and 4th. 1st and 2nd were fine but when it went to 3rd it would just rev out. then i got a new tranny and it was starting to every great once ina while start out in limp mode (sdtarting out in 3rd) but then whenever i cleared the code it was fine for a while. id say check ur fluid level and condition but as far as a clunking sound goes u may need a new tranny =/

this ended up actually being the fuel pump. that doesnt exactly explain the clunking but once thats fixed well see where we're at.

Clunking could be engine knock from it being lean when you put a load on it.

the clunking was at 23mph and very moderate throttle. it was very loud and sounded like it was from the bottom of the car.
