-Completely untouched as far as mods go (bought it in 2011 as a DD and used as such until 2014)
-Solid running car, the only CEL that has ever come on was for a gunky air check valve
Issues:
-Vats bypass
-Clear coat on hood has come off, hood needs repainting
-Passenger rear quarter panel has grapefruit sized dent where it was backed into in a parking lot
-tint is bubbling in spots
-Probably could use a new set of brakes and tires will need to be replaced in another 10k I'd say.
Car would be good for a DD or a complete virgin for modding out.
Not even sure where to start on the asking price 4k obo is probably what I would start at.
79 Malibu Carb'd 5.3 swap
-not sure of the original miles on the car when I bought it, supposedly was 60k but it was basically just a roller I had shipped to the garage. Do have original window sticker for it by the way.
- Junkyard 2001 5.3 90k on it at time of purchase. Less than 500 miles on engine/car since it was built
- MSD 6010
- Performer RPM intake
- LS6 oil pump
- CTSV oil pan
- PatG spec'd cam: 214/218 .559/.563 111+4
- Holley 650dp
- Stage 1 th3590 from Jake's Performance w/ Edge 2800 stall
- Custom driveshaft from Driveshaft Specialist of Texas
- Fresh 8.8 rear end with 3:55's built by JD Race and Restoration
- Suspension has all been refreshed. new springs, Bilsteins, bushings all replaced, new upper and lower trailing arms
- Spohn front end rebuild kit
- Quick ratio steering box from 3rd Gen Camaro
- Harwood cowl hood
- 17" Torque Thrust D's/ Tires are fresh less than 500 miles
- Rear brakes converted to disc
- 2.5" Mandrel Bend dual exhaust (can't remember for the life of me what mufflers I went with at the moment)
- Dual LT1 fans, always had a little issue with these that probably needs some troubleshooting
- Car always ran strong have just kept it started routinely the last couple years
- I had started to sand down the paint to repaint Hot Rod Black but never got around to it
- Tons more to list. Have receipts for pretty much every single bolt that went into this car.
- Will include original hood and wheels
I have no idea where to even price this guy but I do know that 2 door Malibus were getting pretty hard to find. I've been out of the car game for quite a while so I don't even know where the market sits right now for these types.
