Default Bought some spacers...lug nuts stick out past spacer??

So i went ahead and bought some 20mm hubcentric spacers off of ebay. Had to cut my wheel studs down of course for them to fit and i ended up putting one on and noticed the open end lugnuts provided with them stick out slightly past the spacer. I went ahead and put my wheel on and it doesn't sit flush with the spacer because the provided lug nuts are somehow to long even though the are short style acorn lugs. So looks like only way to solve this is with a larger spacer so the lugs would sink into it or if somehow there are shorter lugs i could use. Don't really want to run a larger spacer because this one makes my 305's sit abput flush with the fender. Anyway below are some pics.

most wheels have voids there

best thing to do is press out your wheel studs and the studs in the spacers. Then put new arp studs in. I have the same done with my setup

For stud/spacer reference I use:
-20mm (.78") hub centric spacers
-2.5" 12x1.5 .509 knurl ARP wheels studs
-1.38" 12x1.5 Rocket Racing lug nuts

This setup get you the the stock engagement for the lugs to thread onto studs

Man, I cannot find the 1.38" 12x1.5 Rocket Racing lug nuts anywhere.....Rocket Racing never replies to emails or calls.

Are they sold anywhere else...? Maybe ebay under a different name.....?

I'm pretty certain 20mm spacers will be what I need. Are those lug nuts closed ended....chrome plated?

Yea....buying singles is best, I have 4 locking lugs that almost match them. So I only need 16.

Thanks...

Dojob did you have to cut down the arp studs in order for them to clear your wheels or did your wheels have a void for the studs to be able to stick out a lil? Just asking cuz my wheels don't have a void.

I am using the arp studs to hold the wheel on along with the spacers. There is nothing holding the spacers on, except the wheel.

I pressed the spacers' studs out. Pressed the OEM studs out of the car. Then installed the 2.5" arp studs. Slid the spacers on. Put the wheels on. Tightened the lug nuts on. DONE

I bought the kit from Rocket that had locking nuts with it, they (the lockers) were crap and stripped out long before getting to proper torque. I boxed them up and sent them back with a note just this Thursday, will be interesting to see what becomes of that. In the meantime I used 4 of my old lugnuts in their place.

I had pretty much the same question and dojob gave me the same answer.
I did this exact swap and mounted 315/30ZR18's on the back.

Why not pull spacer off. Put lug nuts on and grind some off of lugnut

easy. just get a ball joint tool from harbor freight to press them out. then get a stud installer from summit.

should be like ~2hrs taking your time. pulling tires/brakes taking your time

nothing like placing all the rotational force on the outside end of the stud, this should be worth another wheel off thread soon.

Hey not to highjack the thread. I have a question about those rocket racing wheels lug nuts. Would C1707H, the bag of 20, be the ones to use in place of the factory open ended lug nuts and plastic covers. They look like they would be a nice replacement for the price. They are factory 2001 trans am wheels. Thanks guys.
