going from LS1 to LY2
Long story short. spun another bearing in my LS1 swapped R32 and I'm convinced its cursed. ive found a steal on a LY2 short block that i cant pass up. The LY2 has around 220k miles on it and i plan to do a light refresh on it consisting of bearings, rings, machining, clean it, oil pump and gaskets. ill be pulling all my accessories, heads, water pump, fuel rails harness, crank pulley, ill have to ditch my LS6 cam and go with an LS3 cam. Can anyone see anything else that i may be missing? or any issues swapping to the Gen IV short block? Thank you all very much.

i was told that the LY2 block used about 2qts of oil every 3k miles or so before it was pulled. should i just replace rings and boost it? all the reading ive done states that the genIV 4.8s hold up super well to boost. i would most likely run 10psi. I'm not hunting super high numbers since the car is a weekend drifter. remember the block has 220k miles.

Rings and/or valve seals will drink oil...

Thank you G! I'm going to put the boost plan on hold just for a little bit. but for now the plan is just to send it as is basically. still doing a new oil pump and seals, better baffling in the GTO front sump pan, and the Lingenfelter converter since I'm going to stay with my older truck ECU.

What push rod length would you suggest. i know there are tools out there to measure this length but its all stock parts, genIV block, ls3 cam, ls7 lifters, 243 cast heads all factory. I doubt I'm the only one running this kind of setup.
