Only 313rwhp from a torquer V2?
Hi all, just looking to get some input on if I'm expecting too much. My setup is:
2000-2004ish LS1
I think this year LS1 had the LS6 intake on it from factory?
Torquer V2 cam
4-1 headers
Dual 3" exhaust with a merge
9" rear, 31 spline,1340, 4.11 trutrack center.
Mafless tune (maf is still on the intake pipe but unplugged)
I did a 13.64 at 109mph with a 2.33 60' on street tires as a beginner driver. Weight is probably around 3200 as a guess.
Chassis dyno shows 313rwhp. I'll try to upload the graph soon. It seems to roll over right around 5,500rpm (165 on the graph) but I'm not sure if that's the problem. The only thing that I can think of is a cheap pod filter I have on it - I wonder if it's killing power?
Judging by some of the numbers I've seen around here I was hoping for closer to 380rwhp. Am I expecting too much?

It's a t56 with standard clutch. No runs before this one unfortunately. Dyno is a Dynolog.
Yeah, the conversions come out to:
625.4NM = 461ft lbs @ unknown. No torque curve on the graph.
233kw = 313hp @ 5,500ish
RPMs are roughly:
150kmh - 5,000rpm
165kmh - 5,500rpm
The little dots on the line seem to be every 500.
Looks like the pull stops at about 5,600-5,700. I guess they stopped because it started falling over?
I would have thought peak power would be a bit higher but even at 5,500 it seems a bit down on power.
I used a mph / E/t to HP calculator and it says I'm around 310-320hp but I'm not sure how much the bad launch impacts this.

yikes. yea go back to the track and see what it'll run with a better 60' and shifts. would of thought it'd trap higher even with a 2.33'. I just saw someone in the other section under the 11 second section where he is running a truck (small) cam with 3500 stall and other stuff but is trapping 115mph with a 1.6' at 290' above sea level.

Yeah, from what I've heard the mph is determined by HP and second half of the track. Et is mostly launch.
Another bit of info: a friend was running a dead stock car the same night as me with a claimed 292hp from the factory and managed a 13.10 @ 104.9.
I've heard that each 6hp is about 1mph. I'm 4mph faster than him which is only another 24hp on his leaving me with 316hp. Math checks out?

I cant speak on the hp for every mph cause theres a lot of other factors to put into consideration. his trap speed based on the low sea level is about average of a stock LS1 and assuming your friend has an auto they typically dyno 270-280rwhp while the manuals close to 300-310rwhp.

You don't have a HQ Holden by any chance?
Just kinda putting 2 and 2 together, only reason you would keep an unplugged MAF on the intake is probably if you were in Australia trying to hide a mafless tune from the cops haha.
Somethings up for sure, I was making about 20rwhp more than your figure with a stock cam ls1 and built 4l65e with unlocked 3500 converter. I get that dynos are a tuning tool and not necessarily a yardstick for measuring power but for your setup I wouldn't expect anything less than 360rwhp even from a low reading dyno - MPH is down a bit on what I'd expect too.
How does it drive? I think most situations like this I'd probably be looking at the tuner, even a good heads/cam combo with an average tuner can never perform like its meant to.

Yep, you got it it's a HQ. It drives fine no real hesitations or anything. I have a cheap Bluetooth obd scantool, I'll see if I can pull out some AFR Nd timing figures.
I actually only left the MAF in because I'm using it to join the stock air pipe to the rest of my intake. Been meaning to remove it!

Yeah, not sure why but it seems to fall flat at around 5,500 in the graph. Normally that sort of problem is airflow - intake, exhaust or heads.
The exhaust is 4 into 1 headers with large primaries, dual 3 inch pipes with an X merge about half way. No cats, 1 muffler each side.
