Default 1.60 - 1.65 sixty foot on P255/50R16

2002 Camaro, D1SC stock pulley, 4L60e, 3600 Yank, Ford 3.70, factory 16x8 wheel.

Launch off a dead idle.

The first few runs it will do 1.60 - 1.65 sixty foot on P255/50R16 MT drag radials (ET Street SS) at 18 psi. First 3 passes.

Then for some reason it will spin to 1.85 sixty foot. Same pressure, same burnout. Last 2 passes.

Anyone have any experience running this tire on 16 wheels with an Fbody?

Yes I do. I was pulling 1.5s at the 60’ with mine and it was N/A with bolt ons. 4K stall and 4.10s.

For me the tire wanted more of a burnout. It seemed to stick better.

Also keep in mind that with your power and that type of tire that shock settings and pinion angle is key… it’s not just the tire… it’s the whole setup. If don’t have an anti roll bar on your rear end I’d recommend getting one.

Update:

Three passes this weekend.

1.623 7.258
1.636 7.261
1.631 7.257 11.363 120.15

First two runs was trying to slow down for 11.60 in Sportsman.

The main change from previous problem runs was much stronger burnout.

Made sure I had my wheel speed up in third gear for a decent burnout.

19.5 and 19.0 psi worked equally well.

Now to figure out where to launch on the tree!!

Nice! Glad to hear it helped. I ran 18 psi mostly but hey, whatever works for any given track night. I ran bracket races so I never stuck to one setting. It’s whatever works that night.
