Default Rocker arm bolt torquing I felt a pop and it felt like it got less tight

When I was tightening one of my Rocker arm bolts with a tq wrench I felt a small pop and it felt slightly looser, so I took the bolt out and both the threads on the head and bolt were fine. So I went at it again to tq to spec 22 ft lbs and it went to spec no problem I even gave it another two clicks just to make sure and it was still okay. Just want to see if anyone has experienced this before.

Most lkely cause was the body of the rocker arm was making contact with a pedestal on the rocker arm stand and it popped once it was tightend. Important to make sure the stand is centered on the cylinder head and that all rocker arms are started by hand.

I've had this happen on various bolts and it's disconcerting. Most of the time, the little pop is the release of built up tension due to friction in the threads and under the bolt head. In your case, it was probably the rocker not being seated, as stated.
