I know some basics, but not super knowledgeable. I noticed the engine diesels on 87 octane, but seems to run fine on 91. Any general advice would be amazing. Like if something else pairs nicely to keep it running smooth with the mods it has, or this type of oil, warm it up this long etc. Seems to run great around 210 temps, gets up to 220 it super hot weather in traffic, but not above that. I think 235+ i bad from what I read.
I just want a super reliable runner, not looking for HP. Assume it make around 400whp.
The LQ9 fuel requirement was to use premium fuel. 91 octane or higher. The carb setup is also an issue lending towards pinging and dieseling. Nice clean setup. How does the alternator fit under the hood, is it a stock hood?
I appreciate the info and exactly what i was looking for, thank you! It has the shaker hood (fake one as the "bump" is part of the hood). Alternator actually sits below the air filter, but just looks higher in the photo. I actually prefer the look the dual scoop hood, but I think going back to fuel injection is something I do much down the road as its not cheap. This car is not number matching or anything so can make it how I want it without much repercussion.
