Rear seal cover plate scratched

Default Rear seal cover plate scratched
Went to remove the rear main seal to replace it and I scratched the inside of the plate behind the seal.

do I need to get a new cover plate? The scratch is deep enough to catch your fingernail. What do I do?

That's nothing I've done worse after Taco Bell.

Smooth it out get rid of the burrs and put the new Seal in, you'll be fine.
