Default Dyno tuning and tires wont stay stuck.

Hello
Looking for some advice on better back tires. I have a 2005 2whl drive gmc Canyon crewcab short box
I swapped in a 2011 lq4 6.0 added a cam, injectors, fuel pump and a 69mm turbo. I put the 18inch factory rims on the truck and a nice wet of Laufenn 235- 60 r 18 tires.
now I'm finally on the dyno and the truck spins and smokes the tires. Dyno guy says they arent sticky enough. It's currently 455rwhp.
Would it be recommended to go to a 18 inch drag radial keeping the factory rims(that I love) or get a set of steel 15inch rims and drag radials. I'm confused as to why many guys stagger the wheel sizes.
any thought and advice would be very much appreciated

Thanks
Ryy

Put some traction compound on the rollers and weight in the back of the truck

To give an example, my c5z with 335 wide r comps spun on the dyno.

Very common to have to load up the rear with some weight to get a clean pull.
kinda sounds like your dyno guy doesn’t have a lot of experience with higher powered stuff.

having said that, a 235 behind a healthy v8 is asking for nothing but spin on the street as well.

"and weight in the back of the truck"....
A 400# MIL, and a couple 300# "playmate GF's will do the trick.
