I have a question
I have a question i don't run in the single digits, but i had a question for those of you who do. what kind of horsepower does it generally take to break into the 9's? just wondering because, i know this is not true, but a kid at my high school thinks he is going to be running 9s with his altima by puting an ebay turbo on it. some people will believe anything they read.
i really hope your banging your head against a wall because the kid thinks he'll do 9's. my question was a legit question. if you think it's a stupid question then a reply is not necessary.
HP is going to vary a lot, depending on weight, suspension, track, altitude, etc.
As a nitrous car, I ran numerous 10.0's: stock bottom end, heads, cam, intake, weight: 3450; poor track; usually 3500DA; hp approx: 600. I have seen numerous 2800lb cars make 9's with a lot less HP.
Your friend is full of it, if he thinks he'll ever make 9's. A buddy of mine that races a 2300lb Honda with 800+HP is knocking on the door of 9's. Tell your friend to save his money or better yet, give it to me

does he mean 1/8th or 1/4 mile? I could see it 1/8th. I really dont think the traction would be there, or that the axles could stand the h/p required for single digits in a 1/4. If you happened to know the weight of the car there are calculators to find this out. You could possibly make the h/p and have no way to get it to the ground.
no he's full of himself. and he meant the 1/4 mile. he thinks an ebay rotary turbo is going to add 300 hp. he's a moron. i never thought he was right, i just was wondering what kind of numbers it takes to get into the single digits.

well, do what any pal would do, keep getting updates, and when he takes it to the track, offer to drive the video camera, so you can keep laughing at him lol.
