Default Another bumper drag!!!!! video inside, half way down 1st page

We put together a car that we are taking to thunder. It is a 99TA weighing in at about 3150lbs.
408 CI iron block (Callies crank,Crowler rods, Diamond pistons)
244/248 612/630 on a 112 on XER lobes
13.8 static compression
8.4 dynamic compression
CNC heads
ASP pulley
electric water pump
madman rack
madman motor plate
Goebel TH400
PI 4000 stall
12bolt (3.73 gears)
28/10.5/15W rapped around prostars
Mickeys up front also
Harlen 2step

The car makes 590rwhp and 630rwtq on a 150 NX MAF kit for the first stage. I have a botton on the car for another 150 for the second stage. We went out to the local 1/8mile track here in Dallas and I was driving the car. Since it was test and tune we were going to go step by step. I left of the first stage to see how the car would react. We at RPM were pleasently surprised. It went 1.31 60ft and drug the bumper. I thought that was a damn good 60ft since there was so much air on the launch. I can't imagine if I would have left off both stages. Tomorrow I am going to weld up some travel limiters. I had the rear hals set on 10 and the front set on 4. I will stiffen up the front alittle more and maybe even the back. LOL. We didn't have enough time to run the car again that night. The result from that one run was a

6.23@109.8 with a 1.31 60ft. We are hoping to dip down in the 5's with the second stage this weekend. The 60ft should go down abit more with the extra 150 out of the whole also. Right now my car goes 6.0's and there is another car in the metro area that has gotten a 5.999 one time. I plan on getting into the 5.8 range with my car before thunder. I weigh in at 3600lbs. LOL. I will have the video up in the next day or so.

6.2's with "only" 590 rwhp is awesome! Congrats! I wish my pig weighed what your car does.

Thanks but that would be my car he is referring to. It was a pretty spectacular sight ideed. I walked him thru the burn out box and got him staged, he did the rest. As he said I have a Matt Harlan 2 step to activate the nitrous when you let go of the T brake button. On the 1st yellow he stalled it to the converter(PI 4000) and on the 3rd he let it go. I say it pulled the fronts 3' in the air, others say it closer to 4'. It carried them to the 60ft box and fairly gently set them down, no damage done. The fronts cleared the center divider at the start line. I'd say a 1.31 60ft is excellent especially for being the first bottle pass on a new set up. It ran 6.23@109.8 on a 1.31 60ft. Can't wait to take it out this coming weekend and get both stages. I'd like to thank all the fine folks at Real Performance Motorsports here in Dallas for making my car as fast as it will be. Look for the 99 NBM T/A with silver 30th anniversary stripes and a big RPM sticker in the rear glass at the Thunder Racing Shoot Out next month in Louisiana. Sorry this is so long but I'm excited.

No we were at Kennedale but we usually go to Denton. We should be out at Denton this coming Friday or Saturday night to test both stages.

CJ dont tighten the rear shocks any more all that will do is get the car to leave harder. Put limiters on it leave the shocks and add air pressure till the 60ft goes away then drop down 1/2 lbs.

Thanks, I appreciate you giving me advise and I will do exactly that. I think I can tighten the front up and that will help me out alittle also. The tires had 11psi cold and they are screwed in. Remember these are fat *** tires also. I have the link to the video now and it doesn't near give it justice. If you do the slow motion on it, you can see the tires fall just inches from the 60ft box. Also watch the crazy light I cut in slow motion also. The front was already coming up before the light turned green. LOL.At least I can say I drug the bumper and stayed in it. LOL, I couldn't see anything at all. No tree, no bleachers, only black night sky. LOL It is the top video in this section.

Mike the track prep was great there's no argueing that but we have to fight the traffic all the way over there so we get there late and you only stay open until midnight. Who knows we might show up before the shoot out.

Full interior (except back seats), mild steel 6point,9in,TH400,Cast iron 6.0 motor, steel DS, all the crazy suspension, and a 10lb bottle full with bracket.

Pretty much factory wieght with only these things taken out of it: front and rear BSs,A/C compressor, condensor, accumulator, and lines, back seats, and jack.

I am just going off of GMHTP shootout. I weighed in at 3430 with me in it. Since then I have added a 9in and a Iron block and the bottle and have taken nothing out of the car. (I weighed the car down there with no bottle)

Just speaking for myself Stephan, I won't make it to the clash this year. Still have some testing to do and get everything wrapped up before the shoot out.

I do have a glide but have never weighed it with it in the car. I am just guessing from my previous weight and what I have added to the car.
