9 second car
edit your the super mod who banned me for posting in the southern section and shitting on you and veangence? funny how I was down at memphis for the pump gas drags but yet you banned me for being in the southern section
too bad you didnt come to the track and meet us in personSeriously though, there is bound to be another site that feels exactly the same way you do so why stay here and argue. Just seek out something that fits your style and move on if it annoys you so much here. Or start a poll and if you get enough support maybe you can ask Tony or PSJ to make the 12-11-10-9 second club LS1 exclusive. Thats how it works in America..
I'd need a 2004+ timeslip or video from the 18 second ford before I can change your user title - sorry. FWIW you can change your own avatar..
My point is give the guy some respect for having a 9 second whatever, this site has been here for 6 years and how many mustangs are 'invading.' You seem to overlook the fact he has an LS1 car, maybe he was thinking of building one because he is sick of the mustang. Now he knows all his mustang buddies were right and LS1 guys are dickeads lol.
Either way no reason for anyone to get banned over it or make *** kickin threats..
I didnt know I wasnt allowed to harass a mustang owner on a chevy website, I mean god forbid
go play god in the southern section
The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
I did not think it would cause this kind of an uproar by posting my car in this section.
This is the history of the car
The car has been in my family since '91.
I've began drag racing it since 1995 when it was bone stock running 14's. Then in '96 the plan was to get it in the twelves. So I got a vortech A trim,Edelbrock performer heads and a Saleen "shootout" intake and the first time out it went 11.7@117 on the stock tires!! I was shocked it went that fast. We bolted on some M&H street slick the next week and went 11.3@118.
At that time Vortech introduced the S trim so I sent the A trim to Vortech to be upgraded to S trim level. It went as quick as 10.8@128 with a world class T5 tranny. It was running so well for what had been done considering the car still had the stock block, AC,power windows, etc. It still had the Saleen roadracing suspension. So A friend Eric Laferriere lent us his C4 Auto tranny. Then it went as quick as 10.3 @132.This was in '96
In '97 we put the 5 speed back in and I bracket raced it that season.
Then in '98 Fun Ford Weekend introduced the Street Renegade class and we decided to set it up for that class. We then pick up a 310 A4 blocked shortblock with billet internals and a C4 tranny along with long tube headers. I qualified number 1 in S/R at the FFW event at New England Dragway. But unfortunately the event got rained out in the Semi's (There was no one within a half second of me
) For '99 i switched to Fox Lake ported Twisted wedge heads, different cam and a T trim vortech remove the A/C,heater,power steering. Again I qualified #1 at the FFW at NED with a 10.01@132 and I ran 10.0's all day and winning the event.
The best I ran with that setup was 10.001@135
I was rated by 5.0 mag as the 8th fastest S/R car in the country for '99.
For 2000 We switched the cam and went with the Novi 2000 blower and went with the Ford Racing EPEC cpu controls along with titanium valves needed to run 7k rpm with a class legal hydralic cam .I also added a D&D tubulat K member with HAL coilovers up fron and A TRZ rear suspension. It took a little to get it running right. but once we did I went 9.93@138 right off the trailer.
But what once was stone reliable( It never broke before) but now it seemed like almost everytime I went to the track something broke, burnt pistons and valves, cracked blocks, cracked heads,Trannys, blowers.
'04 It ran great running as quick as 9.6@146 with a crappy 1.48 60".
On my first pass in '05 the Blower seized sending shrapnal through the engine. Buy the time we got the engine rebuilt and were able to find a driverside Novi 2000 it was late in the year so I decided to park it. The car just sat in the garage last year while I just cruised around in my '00 T/A.
But this year the plan is to tune it for pump gas and just drive it on the street and have fun with it. Because S/R is now a 7 second class and breakage cost to much. With all the money spent repairing it maybe it would be a 7 second car by now as well. But, oh well.
The slips may be old but the car is still a 9 second car wether it ran it in '04 or last week. A 9 sec. pass is a 9 sec. pass.
Just think I was in the 10's,11 years ago. What kind of times were you guy running then? And I was in the 9's seven years ago. I beleive I was in the 9's before there was a 9 second LS1 out there!!
Don't get me wrong. I love LS1's. I've had my 2000 T/A for almost 5 years now And I still like it as much as the day I got it. Next spring I'll be in the market for another car. I'm undecided between another Fox body Saleen (There starting to go up in value) or a '01-'02 camaro SS to go with my T/A.
You see guys I like all American performance cars. GN's,'vettes, camaros, firebirds, mustangs,GTO's and even ????'s.
i would take a new Z06 over anycar made. bar none.
Heres some pics of my T/A to see what king of GM a Saleen guy would have.
My futue plan for it are a 12 bolt, 427 stroker, trick flow heads, etc.
