Chevy 350 Build Question. okay first off I am new to engine building.
I have a gen I sbc 350 4 bolt main. I want to rebuild this thing for my CJ7 jeep. I want somewhere between 325-350 hp. I would still like to run easily on 87 octane.
What kind of engine kits do you guys suggest? Also I need some new heads, cam all that good stuff. Mine old ones are kinda beat and its prob cheaper to buy new ones then rebuild. I have a edelbrock preformer 650 cfm carb. Will this be enough?
Anything I have missed please feel free to add.

Doesnt take much to get 1 HP per cubic inch, a small cam and some stock port vortec heads will get you that power and even more torque. 218/220 duration at .050 and 470ish lift can do it, flat tops or dish pistons will work and the carb you have will be fine.

Found these for sale:
set of SB CHEVY DOUBLE HUMP HEADS LIKE NEW,cast #3991492 date code f-27-3 these were over the counterheads new manley severe duty 202 and severe duty 106 valves,crane springs.retainers,locks teflon seals,straight plug heads
Would they be a viable solution?
I am not very knowledegable on head specs etc.

one thing to keep in mind about the double hump heads is the lack of accessory mounting holes drilled and tapped in the front and rear of the heads, this will limit you options for mounting accessories, you'll have to go with a short water pump etc etc
not that its a bad thing but just keep it in mind if you have a budget and already of parts
