popping Ok heres the deal, I had started another thread about my timing issue. I got that fixed now I have a popping out the exhaust. It stops when I disconect the number 8 plug wire. It happens all the time, at idle and through the entire RPM range. Do I have a burnt valve?

I got it fixed. somehow the timing is not reading correctly. I had it at 36 deg. total. The comp 9000 has 24 built in so I had 12 initial and it wouldny hardly run. I trusted the marks and timing light and thought it Must be something else. Well I decided to go with my gut and set the okd fashioned way by setting it till it pings then back it off till it quits and the popping is gone and its runs like a scalded dog. Now I just need to figure out why it doesnt read correctly. The only thing I can think of is the balancer slipped but it is aftermarket. Guiss I will get a piston stop and find the true TDC.
