Question e85 guys...

well im almost finished up with my 87 sbc supra, i went with the quickfuel 750 e85 carb and holley blue fuel pump with reguator, are you guys having a hard time getting your cars running good? what af ratio are you guys seeing the best results? how much timing? i was also wondering about plugs. its a stock 350 crate gm goodwrench motor 9:5.1 i think, stock now but i have a 150 shot kit and a pretty good size cam/vortec heads waiting to be installed. thanks.

your carb could be a little big for the stock 350. a 650 would probably be better suited, but once you start upgrading everything else the 750 would be the better choice.I dont know what af ratio im running but heres my motor set up

motor is a 355
186 double hump heads(fully ported and polished)
vic jr intake
holley hp 750 with quickfuel metering blocks and mainbody
(83/90 jets and #31 squirters)
11.5:1 compression
custom lunati cam(.520/.540 lift 290/300 duration 240/250 @.050 106 lsa)
Mallory HYFIRE VI Digital box
MSD billet distributor
NGK UR6GP plugs
Motor runs on E85

intial timing at 18*
Total timing set at 39*

Problem is, depends on where you get the fuel. This is something a new friend told me.

E85 is 85% Ethanol. Problem being, one place that sells it, it might be 97%, another might be 70%.

So it will always be a PITA to tune it and get it right.

You can buy a WB02 and tune that way, or tune it on gas with the old check a plug method then do the math on how much to richen up the carb for e85 and that should get you close.

e85-90 is summer blend and e70 is winter blend from what I have read, so just find out when they change over at your local pumps...
