well shit..
i pulled the cap off and cleaned the contact between the cap and the rotor, and it seemed to help until i WOT'ed it in 1st gear, then i shifted to 2nd and the same sputtering/dying bullshit started happening. my mechanic back home said the rotor could be burned and dropping voltage. i had no flashlight and i inspected it in the dark, so i suppose it could be the case but im not sure.. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
gaunt, go to pavilions this weekend and find out! its almost the exact same, not quite as blue.. a little more silverish.

cambird, didn't get a chance to replace the cap/rotor today but i did dial back the timing 4 degrees and it runs a little smoother down low, doesnt detonate as badly.
