Default solid roller idle

just got the 72 all buttoned up . however i figured i would see what timing and idle speed you solid roller cam guys are running? im running a 267/272 .710/.710 lift solid roller cam in my 12.5 compression 406 sbc with a t56 behind it. so far ive set it at 950 rpm. it sounds nasty but it almost seems to be not enough idle speed.

My cam has alittle bit more duration than yours but go with 1100-1200. Better oiling for the lifters and it brings the overlap sound of the cam out.

I'm having a similar issue. I'm running .688/.689 and 264/270, 11:1 388ci...

It's not tuned either but it cannot seem to stay idling at 900...honestly I have it around 1200-1500 lol. I'd say 1200 is a fair number to go with.
