sleeved cylinder???????
sleeved cylinder??????? Is anyone running a sleeve in any of the cylinder of your motor? my reason for asking is because, i bought a 400 block a while back that i was going to build and it has a sleeve in one of the middle cylinders. i can't remember why the guy put the sleeve in it. i was gone do a pretty mild street built 406. should i use this block or look for another one? whats the pros/cons of this block? its also standard bore. thanks in advance.

The 400 blocks are the worst ones to sleeve beacuse the sleeve is so close to the head bolt hole they tend to crack when torqued up and it will distort the shyt out the cylinder or cylinders its next too. 400 blocks should be plate honed as they have weakest decks and cylinders.
Its hard to compare a 400 block to a Bowtie or am I missing something here.
Its a good idea to have the block sonic tested before any work is done to see if the cylinders are thick enough,

Got 2 in my Bowtie block ...14 1/2 to 1 no problems with it ..if its done properly
