need help finding headers for BB

Default need help finding headers for BB

i recently purchcesed a 83 camaro with a 455 oldsmobile big block in it, dont know why it has a 455 in it but i bought it anyway. the exhaust manifolds are cracked on it and i was lookng to purchace some headers but dont know what would work., any help would be appreciated.

Uhem.. you wont find anything for it.. There's barely a swap header for the BBC into a Third Gen, let alone a pontiac 455...

It looks like the 455's two middle ports are Siamesed like a traditional SBC, you might be able to modify a pair of SBC LT's by cutting the flange off and welding a 455's flange onto it. Otherwise, sorry.

its a Oldsmobile motor not a huge difference im sure. i know ppl have headers on these big blocks i just need to find someone that has them and problem solved

Sorry, missed the olds part.

Just because you can find headers for these blocks does not mean it will fit a Third-Gen. Just look under the car where the exhaust comes out. It's 10x more complicated to route exhaust than with a 4th, and unfortunately this isn't a common swap.. I guarantee most people go with manifolds when they swap it in because they don't think about this part.

The best example of this is with the LSx swap in the third gen, 4th gen headers go straight into the frame rail.

Don't buy a set of expensive headers just yet because they fit the block.

Personally, I would pull the motor, sell it for some coin to some purist and drop an LSX or BBC into it.

im sure thats why they put manifolds on it was because its so damn tight and u have to mod the headers. i didnt plan on putting any real money in to this car since it had a big block already but mayb ill find a 454 and put in it
