oval or rectangle port?

For a 468 street strip 7000 max rpm would like to make 650-700 hp what do you guys think I have a set of oval port 2.19 valve heads need totally redone valves and everything what would you guys do thanks.

Oval if you plan on doing any knid of street driving. Rectangle ports just dont' do well at low rpm's.

We use the BB RR-O heads on my wifes 489. It will hit 7000 if needed, she shifts at 6500.
Probably making in the 600-650 hp range with a small solid roller cam.

Just ask 1320racer/Ed B. and he will point you in the right direction regarding oval ports. He frequents YB, classracer.com and use to be on DRR heavily. His Firebird formula runs in the 8s with a BBC and his old BBC chevelle ran well with ovals

Street/strip car. Go with ovals (049 or 781s are best)
Trailer queen. Go with rectangles (990 casting)
Both will get you to your goal. But ovals with have more torque down low for street. Rectangles with make more peak power at higher rpm
