Default First Gen VIN check?

Looking to see where I can get info on a 69 VIN number. I already decoded it but I need a history report on it. Seems like all the VIN checkers want the 17 digit VIN. Anyone have any good resources on how to get the histroy on these things?

This car has no title and I'm trying to see if I can get a title for it. It's proving to be quite the PITA.

Thanks,

~Jim~

I usually just talk to the local PD and have them run it for me to make sure it's not stolen, and then go thru Broadway Title. Perfectly legal as long as it's not reported stolen, or has had a title issued to it in 5+ yrs.

Thanks for the info but I think the car has been untitled for 10+ years. Hard to tell at the moment. I'll try the police station today if I can't get any where with the DMV

Supposedly the guy who owns the car currently went through a similar title company and got taken for $600. I want a clean state title.

Hopefully this works out I've always wanted to build a 69 Camaro
