Long shot here, but looking for opinons on pricing a SBC 406/th400 for sale
I just picked up a new C3 Corvette project this week...a '75 convertible. I'm planning on doing a LS/T56 swap with this car, so I'm about to pull the engine and trans that is in the car and try to sell it.
The engine is a 406 built by Book Racing in Illinois. It has an old set of Brodix "street" heads on it (I think they are 165cc runners and roughly 66cc chambers) with Crane roller rockers. The cam is a custom grind (Howards) that is 284/292, .510/.525 lift on a 108+4. Intake is a plain Edelbrock Performer, and the carb is a Holley 650 DP. I'll be selling all the accessories and brackets with the motor as well. Ignition is an MSD 6AL box with a Blaster 2 coil. Not sure on the distributor. Motor is complete, pan to carb.
The trans is a th400 with a 3200 stall, also rebuilt. It shifts incredibly well...very firm, but not jarring...will chirp the tires going into second at half throttle. Not sure on the brand of stall.
This motor and trans was built back in 2009, but only has about 1500 miles on it. Anyone have any ideas on what something like this is worth? Would I be better off to pull the engine and trans and then part it all out?
Thanks in advance.

I sold a 406 recently: stock block, forged rotating with flat top pistons, AFR heads with Jesel, solid roller cam in the .64x range, made 540hp
Heads went for $1400
shortblock with lifters and ATI dampner was $2200
cam sold for $175
