Boosted 502 Ramjet
I'm thinking about buying a 70 Monte Carlo with a 502 Ramjet. It has a Vortech blower but no intercooler.I will probably add a meth and an intercooler.Rear is a 9" Ford 3:73 and a 700R4 with an Art Carr 3500 stall.I'll probably replace the trans with a 4L80E.Everything is 6-8 years old and I don't know which Vortec is on the car.He has all receipts and the car seems to run well.He said it makes approximately 680BHP and 690#s of torque.I'm not looking to set any records but low 11s-high 10s would make me happy.I already have a 9 second C5.Has anyone heard of a 502 with a Vortech and how tunable is the stock Ramjet computer?Anyone have any idea on how many MPG I should exspect.
Thanks
Thanks

The owner that had my 69 before me had a Vortech (i don't know which one) on a 502 Ram Jet, he ditched it for a Holley EFI setup (easier to tune from what he told me). Expect about 8-12 mpg, but overall it sounds like it would be a fun street car.

This was on an M22 with a Gear Vendors unit. At the time this mileage was calculated the tune wasn't spot on, but was close. That 8-12 mpg was combined (with a heavy foot), I'd say closer to 18 mpg highway keeping your foot out of it.
