A 350 tranny will bolt to the back of a 502. Whether it will last is a different story.

The 350 Turbo will work if built with the correct parts. Use the 2nd gear sprag assy. Its not cheap probably 300 dollar range. ATI and TCI both sell them. Behind a big block do not use the hardened outer race. I will crack or break. Only other weak spot is the bellhousing, make sure you're using good motor/ trans mounts. They will live if done right. We run one behind a 467" small block making 800+ HP car runs lo to mid 9s n/a in a 3300 lb. nova

Well put. They can even make overdrives hold up to some crazy beatings these days. Its all about how much you wanna spend. Just don't skimp on your trans that fabulous motor will be a wonderful sounding boat anchor.

Thanks guys for responses

I just want to know if it worth to start it with 502 ci without changing the transmission ?

If so, i will swap engines. Is there anything to take care of like harness ?

How would i know the differntional ratio of my truck ? I got the car without any details from the show room I asked them many questions but they don't know nothing about it

Wiring harness on an old truck like that is pretty much straight forward. should work also with out any changes. The only real way to find out the gear ratio is pull the cover, count hte teeth on both the ring and pinion gears. divid the number of teeth on the ring gear by the number of teeth on the pinion gear, this will tell you exaclty what the ratio is.
