Default 400 sbc build help

hey guys i just got a low mile 400 sbc out of a van and was wondering if i put my vortec 906 heads and a comp xe 284 cam in it edelbrock air gap intake, 750 holley, how much power would i be looking at.........and possible 1/4 mile times in a 86 iroc-z

Vortec heads will prolly bolt on 20 to 40 hp DONT forget to have the Steam Holes drilled in the heads for the 400!!!

Make sure the Vortech heads chambers are compatible with your pistons - you don't want compression ratios way too low or way too high.

400 is a weird beast - it needs more cam than you might think and can use larger cc heads without total destruction of the bottom end. Vortech heads will give you a boatload of TQ if they don't screw up the compression...
