Default My 305 build

So I've got my 305 in the machine shop being bored 40 over and being decked for my s10. Yes I know it's not a 350 but o well.

Here's a list of parts I'm going to use
Bottom (end)
Speed pro flat tops
Scat I beam rods
Clevite rod, main, cam bearings
Brass freeze plugs
All arp bolts
Double roller timing chain
.500 lift cam of some type

(Heads)
305 h.o heads
3 angle valve job
New valve guides
Manley swirl polished valves
Arp head bolts

Performer intake
Full msd ignition
600 holley carb

That's what I plan on running if any body as any other thoughts chime in.

Everyone has told me that and yeah I know it's just a 305 and it's like 46 cubic inches smaller than a 350. But I bought this 305 to help a buddy who was having some money issues and really needed it. I know it won't never make a lot of hp but it's always fun building a motor

I've seen some hard running 305s. They aren't as terrible as everyone thinks. I actually want to build a little 305 just for fun.

Any porting on those heads?

My 4.8 with a baby 220 cam and .510 lift with a performer rpm intake, mid length headers and 650 carb just put down 312 RWHP and 308 TQ. I had a vortec 350 bored .040 over with ported vortecs and XER 236/242 cam put down 311 rwhp with a 10 bolt, the 4.8 has a 8.8. So my statement stands. Lol

I would recommend the Vortec 059 casting heads over the H.O. heads, I have been down the road of building 305's before in the past. 400hp is the mark where a streetable engine stops and the cost doesn't go through the roof and the HP to $ doesn't get out of hand. Those heads have the same 58CC chambers so compression wont suffer but they flow much better then the L69 HO heads.
