Default Pilot bushing orientation help!!!

Hello

I am installing a Ram pilot bearing into a 383 stroker Chevy crank by Callies. One end of the bearing seems closed around the edges(I assume to keep grease from flinging out).... while the other end you can see the bearing's edge. I am not sure which end faces the transmission, and which end faces the crank. If you know, I would appreciate the help! Thank you for your time!

Personally, I'd go with a bronze bushing. If a roller bushing goes bad or it's damaged when installed, you'll eat up the input shaft. But, the closed end goes towards the trans.

Thank you for your help. I installed the roller pilot bearing correctly. We ll just have to hope it holds up well. I think the original pilot bearing for the LT1 was bearing too.
