The pistons will also need to be replaced to go over .530 lift. I would recommend going forged, or you'll be breaking them right at the ring land. Here's a user who picked up generic aftermarket replacements and did just that:
You'll need to replace your rods if you're going over 550hp. This won't be possible with stock iron heads unless you're adding boost.
The factory intake requires a great deal of internal modification to flow air. You can also run the dart carb / efi holly plate style manifold. Both work great and will support enough air to make 600hp NA.
