81 firebird 700R4 issues?

81 firebird 700R4 issues? I have an 81 Firebird that I have removed an poncho 350 from and installed a late 80s model SBC and 700R4. I kind of have a couple issues, some that I have looked into and pretty sure I have fixed but need to get running to test. The 700R4 that is in it was an electrical speed cable. My firebird was a cable driven so I removed the rear housing and checked the gears. Seeing that they were the same teeth in the poncho trans and the 700R4 I swapped the actuator and gear from the electrical to the cable driven and seems to fit well. 1 problem solved I think. The other issue I was looking into was the kick down cable for the converter. I think I have that issue fixed with the correct bracket that hold the kick down and throttle cable.
My big issue right now is the driveshaft. The firebird did not come with the driveshaft so I can not test fit that one. I did have a driveshaft off an 87 camaro. The one off the camaro is a good 3-4 inches short. I was thinking of taking it to my local driveshaft shop and getting one made by cutting the ends off and building to the correct length.
The other thing I was thinking is if the firebird driveshaft would bolt right up? Not sure on the output shaft fitting the yoke on a firebird driveshaft will fit the 700R4 or not?

You're good on the speedo. The cable IS NOT a kick down cable, it's a throttle valve cable. It is hugely important to have installed and adjusted correctly on a 700r4, if not you can literally burn the trans up in less than 5 miles. The drive shaft, the yoke out of the camaro should fit the 700, if so, take the yoke by your drive shaft shop and they will ask you for measurements. Don't guess on this, there are directions all over on how to get the correct length.
