Water down intake and carb Ok, so we had a disaster last night! Me and my son are building him a 68 c10 with a sbc. I was starting the truck and it had a backfire through the carb and had a little bit of fire. Well my son ( he's 9!) Bless his heart, he had a cup of water in his hands he was drinking and when he saw the fire he got worried and threw it on the carb and it got down the intake. Fire is a touchy subject since we lost our home to a fire a few yrs ago so he just reacted.
Long story short, wont start now. I've pulled plugs and cranked all the water out, changed the oil, marvel mystery oil down cylinders, stopped all the water out of the intake.
Any ideas what I can do? It's got spark. I'm stumped

Water shouldn't have done any damage if you didn't turn it over with water in the cylinder and if you did turn it over it still may be fine if it wasn't enough water to hydro lock the engine. I would try new plugs first and recheck the initial timing. If it's a Holley carburetor you may have blown the power valve when it backfired through the carb.
check to see if you're getting fuel and ignition. If you've already emptied the cylinders of water then put the plugs back in, spray a little fuel or starter fluid through the carb and try to start it.
