mice infested engine Was offered an 88 350 that’s been sitting in a field for the last 30 years. Intake was off but in the engine bay and mice made a nest in the valley and got crap under value cover and some down to the pistons. Water pump rusted and intake as well. I mainly just want the heads but wondering if block and intake can be saved as well or if it’s all just scrap. If it can be saved what’s the best way to remove rust from intake and water pump housing. Thanks

Don’t need the block just the heads, intake and water pump housing. If they can be cleaned up some how it’ll save me the money of buying brand new for the time being. If the block can be saved I can hang onto it as a spare.
Anything is salvageable with the right process and enough money. A shop can bake the rust away if they have the setup, or perhaps a deep vat could remove it. Got any pictures? All machined surfaces can be re-machined. Does it turn over?
There's not a single iron cylinder head on a 1980's derelict mouse house small block 350 that's been left rotting in a field that's worth the hassle.

Like 99 Black Bird T/A mentioned. Does it have aluminum heads???
I could be wrong, but I don't think GM used any "cast iron" intakes on the SBC in 1988. The intake shouldn't be rusty. TBI truck intakes were even aluminum....
