Balancing on a 454
Balancing on a 454 I have a 454 in my truck that was some type of crate engine. The numbers on the block show 78-90 454 2 or 4 bolt main. The heads are something like 122.5cc smog heads. The engine is stock.
It seems to vibrate a lot and at certain RPM levels. At about 3k RPM, it will vibrate for about 1-2 seconds, then smooth out for 1-2 seconds continuously. back and forth. It has a brand new TCI trans. What would happen if they installed a new flexplate without the weights?
