Tranmission help I recently bought a 350 out of a 95 chevy 1500, I currently own a 94 gmc sierra 1500. It has a 4l60e in it and I'm wanting to keep the trans in there for a while. Will I need to buy a tcu for the motor to work. Everything im readying says I will and won't. Just trying to formulate a plan for the swap. Thanks!
The 95 engine will work in your 94. The transmission changed in 95 to a pwm lock up converter, but the engine in 95 was still tbi with external coil hei ignition. As long as you keep the 94 transmission it will be a non issue to swap in the 95 engine. The actual “ vortec” engine was not introduced until 1996.
