SBC with LS COils & FT550
I have an unknown running SBC I've pulled from a donor car to use in my build. it is currently setup with a billet distributor and HVC2 coil. rather than spend the money on a 7AL3 I am planning to make use of the FT550 I have to run the engine using a set of LS coils.
It's my assumption I can use this MSD Cam Sync. Can anyone confirm?

And does anyone have some SBC LS coil brackets they recommend? looking for something I could mount on the valve cover before I make some to mount them to chassis/firewall.
apologies in advance my engine knowledge is mostly ford mod motor based but this SBC was a deal I couldn't pass up.
Pic just after pulling it from the donor car:
How do you plan to fire the coils? I'm pretty sure the LS engines' computers require a 24X reluctor wheel on the crank. I thought there was some kits that allowed you to convert a distributor ignition to a coil-on-plug like the LS, but can't remember how they did that.
If you want to use LS coilpacks...sell that engine and just get yourself an LS. Then everything will work and you can find parts for your engine at any local parts stores for the next 20 years or whatever. That would be my advice.
If you can find an LS oil pan to throttle body that already equipped an high output alternator, billet vacuum pump, Meziere water pump, sheet metal valve covers, ID1050 or bigger injectors, fast or similar intake, long tube headers and makes 450-500chp for about $1500-2000, then sure, I would swap it. But I got this whole setup for next to nothing and all it needs is ignition so I'm sticking with this.
definitely stay away from the dual sync distributor, they have issues with heat and longevity.
A little late to the party but I ran/run a 1st gen Holley Dual sync on my 427. I bought a set of ICT Billet truck-coil relocation brackets and some aluminum spacers, and had my buddy TIG the spacers to my valve covers after I tapped them for button head bolts.
