Default OBD II port turns on code reader but reads error code

I’ve hooked up a total of 3-4 different readers to my 1995 camaro and they all come back with and error but they’re getting power because they turn on ect. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem or maybe has an answer? It’s not filled with gunk or nothing.

If it has lost communication then it could be a bad data wire, blown fuse, bad ground or a bad PCM. Get a wiring schematic out and start checking power ground and continuity
