Heads Casting Numbers Question Hey guys i have some heads and i found some casting numbers on them hoping someone good give me some insite on what year they are from and what size of a motor the numbers are: 3795896 and then GM and then a74. thanks in advance guys.

Those heads were originally used on 283 engines with 195/220 hp ratings in 1965 Chevelles, Novas and passenger cars. They have 1.72 intake/1.50 exhaust valves and 59 cc chambers.

Thanks man you always seem to have the answers, i have this engine block (3932386) which you said was a '69 327 with a two bolt main, and i have the heads i just mentioned, would they fit together??? more importantly would it be a good combination?

performance parts for a 350 would apply to a 327 as well, but go a little milder on stuff since you're feeding a few cubes less. Check with a local speed shop, or you can always use summit/jeg's. If you are looking for factory performance stuff and need casting numbers or what to look for, let me know.
