ok, so heres the delemia. ive never rebuilt an engine yet and i was wondering if all these parts could make rebuild my engine, (1970 camaro ss 350 shortblock with fried bearings) i was also considering boring it .40, or .60 over and if you do that do you need anything else done? will that roller cam fit in there since now its a non roller cam (still hydro now). i also have ported double hump heads with 76cc chambers and a victor jr intake port matched to the heads. anything info i would need before i undertake this project would be very helpfull. would everything just go together and work?, i only have $500 to spend, i figured 200 for the bore, and 300 for the kit, is anything missing? anyone have a machine shop in the chicagoland area or know of one that would build that shortblock for $500?, not including the parts, or bore? would i need a higer compression piston (12.1) since it would probally drop a few points because of the 76cc heads to match up with the cam, what tools would i need? any advise.. need to get car runing asap. anyone have a 400-500 hp sbc shortblock for sale? trade my burnt bearing + cash for one... the bearings burnt because it had a head gasket leak and overheated the engine. the 4 valve cut pistons on it are stamped 30, mabye .30 over?
any help is GREATLY appreciated, thanks mike
