question about vats?

I have a 2000 transam being converted to small block what do I need to do to "trick" the vats so the car will start?

the vats controls the factory pcm, which you won't be using with the smallblock most likely

yup, if it's carbed, nothing. and if it's fuel inj., an aftermarket system is in order.

If You are using the F/I system you can just measure the resistance in the chip in the key. Then get a resistor or combo of resistors matching that value.Insert them in the VATS key wiring at the base of the column. You can't miss them, they are the two white wires and the smallest ones around. That will likely work for you. Remember there are 16 different key inserts with different resistance values. Once a value is inserted and seen by the vats module/controller its burned in and stays that way for vats modules life.
