Default Vacuum canisters?

Have any of you used one? Do they work?

Reason iam asking is i dont have enough vacuum to work my power brakes consistantly, so i been puttin off gettin inspection! Well tonight on the way home from the track i got pulled over by state trooper! He wrote me a ticket for no inspection! If i cant find a place to pass it tomorrow then iam gonna have to look for another alternative! How do u guys deal with this?

Thanks,

lurch

A couple of things to remember, if you're sitting in stop and go traffic you'll have to rev the engine from time to time to build more vacuum. Aslo if it's a manual car leave it in gear as you slow down to help build vacuum inside the can. You only get about one or two pumps of the brakes before they start to get hard again. I have one on my car and it helps a bunch, but if you sit in a bunch of traffic you might want to look at a vacuum pump instead.

Somebody makes a vacuum pump that will create constant vacuum instead of storing it like the canister does. Its electric and runs all the time. I think it was like 200 bucks or something but you would never have to worry about reving or only having a couple shots. Thats what im going to use if i end up having to. Ill try and find that link for you.

you can also look into the older Cavalier Cadets, and some volvo's...they came stock with electric vacuum pumps, would make a good junkyard day.
