Default 383 help

Well, the front seal in my 350 went out and it's about ready for a freshening up anyway so I figured I might as well look into making it a 383. Plus, I already have a nice set of AFR 195cc heads.

What can I reasonably expect to pay for the parts, machine work to put together a nice reliable 383?

Yeah, I was figuring about 1500. Where did you get your rotating assembly?

Im also building a Stroker motor. Im using my 350 block. The Eagle 3.750" crank is about 190.00 and the Eagle rods are about 260.00 and the SRP pistons are gonna be 110.00 or so. Machine work i havnt figured on yet but im guessing it will be around 600.00 or so.

Where'd you find that crank for 190? Is it just a steel crank or somethnig better? Maybe I didn't understand it right but that looks right to me . Just curious. thanks

For $190, that's not bad at all still. It gets the job done.

I just put together one and am in the process of building the rest of it. The rotating assembly was $1500 all forged Eagle stuff 3.75" crank and 6" H-beam rods with some SRP flat tops the machine work ran me $1000. I had the block tanked, bored, line honed, decked, and the lifter bores squared up too. I also had it assembled because he had to put it together to make sure he clearanced enough so I figure let him do it. I'll tell you though I'm building this thing for my father and well his pockets aren't exactly shallow and the motor has gotten out of controll $$$$$ wise the thing will prolly cost about $7K when it's done and the whole project around $10-11K But the truck will be done (well almost) and it'll have about 500/500 and run like a scalded *** ape I say go for it just try to not let it get out of control like I did

Wow, you guys paid a lot for your machine work. Did that include the motor being built? I paid 275 for bore, hone, deck, notch for crank, freeze plugs, cam bearings, and cleaning.
