Default cc306?

i have a '91 350 with vortec heads, performer rpm intake and a 700 double pumper. it's around 9.75:1 comp. i'm using a stock 94 LT1 cam in it. it's in my 83 2wd chevy truck. i have a th350 with a tci 3500 stall convertor. 3.42 gears(4.10's soon) the truck weighs 3740 without driver and half tank of gas.

i'm looking to get into the 12's with it, will the CC306 cam work well? i want a nice mean lope.

I am not sure if Comp puts a distributer gear on there LT1 cams, like GM does. So it may not work if thats the case. It would be a nice cam though if it does work.

Should work out nice with 4.10 gears instead of the 3.42's. It has a beautiful lope/rasp to it. If you can find a little more compression, I'd do that also. Maybe Mill the head or thinner gasket. be sure to check piston to valve clearance also because that's no baby cam.

streetrod is correct. CHP recently did a test on that silly BG tripleshooter setup and they used a 230/244 .510/.540 cam, which is a CC306

i seen that test and i think it putt out crappy numbers. but i can't remember. i should go back and look. well it's either the 306 or the xr 288. i'll make a few passes in the truck with it to play, then pulling the motor and tranny to drop in my 93 mustang
