Default help blown motor

i have a 98 ta and my ls1 motor is dead. i need a quick fix but want to do it right. what all options do i have.( ls6 or ls1). also if anybody has one for sale im interested. thanks.

no problem just ran together. would i have to change the computer for the ls6 to work or not.

You can get a used short block with low miles for ~ $1500... definately in the wrong place for this question though

id say not, it's the same engine with a different cam, heads, intake and other random small things.
