Help a friend out! Misc. Stuff Ok, So first of all this is my first post and I am a new member to the LS1tech website. I am starting to get back in to the F-Body scene ever since my ride has gotten closer to being finished. I apologize ahead of time for the long post but maybe you guys can help me out... First of all here is my setup:
1985 Camaro
383 Stroker Motor
Edelbrock 650CFM Carb
Edelbrock 6089 Heads
CS-187R Speedpro Cam
HT 817 Lifters
KB135 Pistons with Chrome Molly Rings
Edelbrock Torker II Manifold
700R4 Tranny with Reverse Manual Valve Body with 3000 Stall
B&M Megashifter
Auburn Posi Rearend with Richmond 4.11

Here is my issue, last July my car lost ALOT of power, it was really ready to just die. In fact, one day it felt like I was driving on 4 cylinders (while on my way to my mechanic buddy). The next day I found out that I had bent 3 rods and broke one as well, while messing a whole lot of stuff up. After further investigation my buddy and I seen the the Cam had pretty much detonated/toasted up and screwed up all the lifters and such. Of course after taking everything a part and cleaning all the debris out and replacing the bearings due to debris damage we realized that there was a lot of work to do! Hence why it has been about a year to finally finish because of all the $$ I had to get together. Well finally after getting the motor put back together, suddenly we had an issue to where my car kept flooding itself... We seemed to have fixed that by installing a Fuel Pressure Regulator, with the new regulator and new plugs, the car ran great, it ran for about 30 minutes at all RPM ranges in park without an issue. I go to pick it up, get about 1/2 mile from the shop and the car starts to stumble, and struggle, and then it died.... Wouldnt start anymore what so ever and had to be towed back to the shop, the Mechanic now seems to think the fuel pump went out and doesnt seem to get any power back from the pump, after not being used much for a year it seems to make sense. Does this sound right to you guys? Any questions, let me know, but I just want to make sure this sounds right. Also how many HP do you think I will be getting out of this once its fully done?
