a long rod motor has 2 basic effects #1 less outward load on the cylinder thrust side of the cylinder wall on each bank, and #2 more dwell time ( The piston standing still ) at the top of the stroke the real idea is for you to be able to use less engine timing as well as less fuel so combuston is more complete --- i am sure someone has a different idea about this, but its all MATH nothing more, think about what is going on jz
