383 Build Help! and Questions
I just got an Eagle rotating assembly with forged crank, H-beam rods and SRP forged pistons plus bearings and such for $1800. Eagle rates this stuff to 800 ponies.
Cleaning, boring and clearancing the block for the stroker crank cost a little $, then there's incidentals like fasteners, gaskets, cam, etc etc.
Go the cast route and save about $800-1000 on the rotating stuff. My current 383 has cast and Eagle rates it good to 500 hp (which I'm pushing already without the bottle).

GM also sells a complete 383 shortblock. To be honest I wouldn't buy a complete shortblock, you could put it together yourself for alot less IMO. SCAT makes awesome stuff as well
A cast crank and SIR rods from Eagle are about $240-250 each. A good set of forged Speed Pro or TRW pistons are around $350-$425. Rings and bearings will run you at least another $175-$200, and again all of that is cast stuff except the pistons and only 500 hp rating.
I'm not trying to knock here, but the same kit I bought from Eagle for $1800 (including tax and shipping) is listed in Summit for $1810 here: http://store.summitracing.com/partde...0&autoview=sku and that's without tax or shipping. IMHO you have to pony up for the good stuff, but as I mentioned in my original post, it depends on what the car will see use for. My current Eagle stuff has 3 years on it without a problem, but I know that the motor is close to the limits without touching the juice, so I want extra insurance instead of cracking a block or destroying other vital parts.
Okay rant over

SRP forged pistons w/ rings
Crower Stroker rods 6.0"
Eagle cast crank
Clevite "H" series bearings
All fully balanced
$27-2900 can't remember off the top of my head.
Completed motor made 589/449 at 7700/6000 respectively
