H beam rods

Default H beam rods

Are h-beam rods much better than I beams??? What is better to run on a 383 stroker a 5.7 rod or 6inch??? thanks for answering all my questions!!!

I prefer Manley I-beams in 6" for weight savings in the rod, and from the lighter piston.

its a load thing the longer the rod the less load on the cylinder bottom as the crank turns and the longer the piston dwell is ( time the piston stayes at the top of the bore ) 6 inch works well in all kinds of things for a SBC if you can use it -- jz

If you're going to turn some serious rpm or put out over 500 ponies, the H-beams are the way to go if you can afford them.

I would go H-Beam. I'm putting a set of scat h-beams in my 400. I found them on ebay for around 320 bucks. Build a stong short block and that way you won't be hesitant to beat on it at the track or on the street.
