Anyone running solid roller?
lately and had a few questions. My valve to piston clearance was a little tight on the outer edge of the exhaust valve before, so i was thinking of running a smaller exhaust duration than my adv 274/286, 230/236 @.050 with obviously more lift (currently .500/.500). What duration/lift would you guys suggest? Obviously i will have to test the vtp clearance again once i get the cam but i was looking for a ballpark before i talked to a cam company. Which cams are the best when it comes to solid roller? Also, along with the essentials of cam, solid roller lifters, valve springs/retainers what would be wise to invest in now? Do most solid roller users run stud girdles or shaft rockers? It seems that might help from having to adjust the rockers all the time. I have forged stock length pushrods, will these be sufficient for the stress place on them? How often will the rockers need adjusted...when you hear a slight ticking?
Any suggestions or help is appreciated. Im just looking for something different than my hydraulic flat tappet setup now. None of this will be done any time in the near future, but down the road so i figured i would go ahead and start getting the facts now. Thanks all.
