need advice on building my stroker
forged dome 8cc dome pistsons with valve releifs
forged h beam rods
forged scat crank
i am currently using a gm 847 cam with 1.6 rockers on a stock head
will this setup work well together and could i use nitrous or what do i need to do to set this up for nitrous, any recomendations on anything elses to do while im rebuilding, I have a bbk 58mm TB with ported intake to match already, what are some other weak spoits i should give attention to while im building it,
Also i hace a t56 and would like to know of a good reliable clutch to use with this combo and what would be a fairly good tuning softwre to use..
thanks for any help you guys can offer
, as for the piston you shouldnt have any problem with clearence with only 8cc dome, i would double check though just to be sure put some playdoe or clay on the piston valve reliefs and set your head & gasket on the block with it just snug put all vavetrain on for that cylinder usually #1, and rotate it over 2 revs then take it back apart and cut a section out of the playdoe and measure how thick it is and that will be your piston to valve clearence not really sure whats acepitable. with everything forged your ready to spray away, other than that sounds like you will have a nice setup forged dome 8cc dome pistsons with valve releifs

As far as checking the piston to valve, you need to be careful checking it in the manner described above. Most times the valve spring pressure will over come the lifter spring and clasped the lifter as you turn the motor over. If you’re lucky and there is oil in the plunger it may not, but this is not the way to check P to V. This will give you a false reading for piston to valve. I never check P to V in this manner.
I can give you a better way to do it but it would be easier to describe over the phone.
You can run Nitrous no problem.
Give me a call if you like, advise is free.
