Default Help with Freight shipping

I'm still in the process of picking out and selecting parts for my BBC swap into my car. I've recently come across a great deal on a lot of parts. The seller says he won't ship and that I have to figure it out.

What do all of you guys use for freight shipping? I'm looking at a rather large crate 250ish lbs from Oregon to Florida. I know it's going to cost a metric **** ton to ship, but anyone have any ideas?

I wasn't exactly sure where to put this thread, so mods you can move it somewhere else if necessary. Thanks.

freightquote.com Take a few minutes and sign up, it's worth the time. I deal with a guy named Bill, he's been perfect so far.

Would you happen to know what shipping class automotive parts are?

Ok, I did the freightquote.com thing like you said Brady. Worked out nicely and suprisingly enough a guy from there named Sean called me about 10 minutes after I signed up. Ended up having a 15+ minute conversation with him. Pricing wise it ended up being a hell of a lot less to ship than I thought it would be. Thanks.

There is a company called Foward air, they are a trucking company and they are extremely reasonable. I shipped a 10bolt from Pittsburgh to Texas and it cost $70. Their terminals are usually close to major airports. You have to drop off and pick up at the terminal but you can't beat the price. Hope this helps. PM me if you need any other help..

I'm not saying freightquote is the best, but I have no reason to look anywhere else. Glad you had a positive experience..
